We have recently deployed Lumira Server for BI Platform 1.29 on top of our clustured BIPlatform 4.1 SP6 installation.
The performances, when opening a Lumira story on this platform, are a disaster.
Our test document (60 MB in size, 4 million rows total) takes more than one minute to be opened and displayed on the Launchpad.
Here is our configuration:
- Two WebApp servers with BIPlatform 4.1 SP6 webapps + Lumira addon (using the tomcat shipped with the platform).
- Two SIA servers with BIPlatform 4.1 SP6
- One SIA server with Lumira Server for BI Platform 1.29 (+ APS, AJS, and WACS from BI Platform).
The sizing has been made according to the sizing guide and server resources are never topped up.
The Lumira server is set up to use up to 10GB of RAM (-Xms1g -Xmx10g) but never uses more than 3 GB.
Currently here are the different steps we noticed when viewing the document:
- Three loading dots, blank page for ~15s
- Lumira title and menu bar appears, loading for ~ 15s
- The "empty" story appears, data starts appearing after 20s
- Data finishes loading 20 seconds laters.
Is there any "Tuning guide" for LS4BIP we could refer to?
Why are the performances so bad?
