Hello Gurus,

Good day.

I would like to ask for some help in finding a user exit/enhancement point to update VBRK/VBUK for our SD issue during VF01/VF04(invoice creation)

Overview:

I am working in an enhancement for SD invoice creation in which I need to check if an invoice (to be generated) has a valid combination from a custom table.

If not valid, then I need to do 2 things:

1. I need to suppress the invoice list creation so it would not show in VF24 (invoice list)

Now, done with that, I put my code inside the second highlighted box - inside PERFORM INDEX_VKDFS_AUFBAUEN_FAKTURA

If there is no valid combination from my custom table for the invoice that I am currently processing then no invoice list creation will take place.

Form subroutineRK_RV_BILLING_INDEX_ADD.PNG

2. I would also need to update 2 tables VBUK() and VBRK with below fields since the invoice list will be suppressed.

VBUK-RELIK - to remove the invoice list relevance for the invoice

VBRK-FKART_RL- Invoice list type

VBRK-FKDAT_RL- Billing date for the invoice list

More info/ What I did:

*At first, I place my code in the user exit (highlighted in 1st box) however, the CALL CUSTOMER FUNCTION '004'

has only exporting parameters for both LVBRK and VBUK WA so any changes that I made inside the exit will not be brought outside.

So I placed my code inside the second highlighted box - PERFORM INDEX_VKDFS_AUFBAUEN_FAKTURA.

and cleared the 3 fields mentioned.

Upon going outside to the calling FM of subroutine RK - FM RV_Billing_index_Add.

I did modify internal tables FXVBRK & FXBUK to reflect the changes made for the 3 fields.

However, when I finish the VF01/VF04 transaction and then I check VBRK/VBUK in se16, the 3 fields still has a value.

Next action:

I think the exit where I did the suppression is OK as I am able to achieve the 1st goal.

However, I need to find a suitable place to clear VBRK/VBUK entries for my 3 fields.

been checking for 2 days but I cannot find it.

Hope you encountered the issue and can give some light.

Thank you so much!

Maki

My First Gay Bar

$

My first gay bar was hidden above a strip mall on the outskirts of Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  I snuck in apprehensively, terrified of being judged, terrified of being misunderstood, terrified of being “caught”.  The bouncer, a friend of mine, had assured me I’d be welcome there, and welcome I was.  It didn’t take long for me to lose my inhibitions, dancing the night away. I pounded my high-heeled boots rhythmically on the floor, feeling happy, young, and free in my leather skirt and spiky hair.  I returned several times, needing a place to express myself, and danced to exhaustion as oversized speakers blasted Depeche Mode, Def Leppard, and the various rap artists climbing their way to music fame.

Despite multiple visits, I never felt that I belonged.  Of course – I wasn’t gay.  But in Fayetteville, North Carolina in the late eighties, the only place to go dancing if you were underage was the local gay bar.  All the other clubs required that patrons be twenty-one, and I was too much of a law-abiding citizen to seek out a fake ID.  The gay club, though, welcomed anyone 18 or older.  They stamped my hand with glow-in-the-dark ink and banded me with a plastic bracelet to mark me as “no drinking allowed”, and I didn’t care.  Dancing and music intoxicated me – I didn’t need alcohol.  Hordes of men swirled around me, flirting mercilessly.  They gave me the attention that I wanted – the attention any teenage girl wants – but it was a uniquely safe way of receiving male attention, when I knew their true attraction was to other men.  When my dorm roommate came for a visit and joined me on the dance floor, they teased us about being a cute couple.  We felt hip, and cool, and a little embarrassed. What if, somehow, word leaked out that we’d gone to a gay club together?  Would people believe we actually were lesbians?  It was a rhetorical question, really.  In those days, before cell phones and selfies and livestreams, word didn’t leak out about such things.  What happened in the gay club in Fayetteville, stayed in the gay club in Fayetteville.

The sense of not belonging, though - that did not stay in Fayetteville.  It has been a part of my life experience the majority of my adult years, haunting me. I grew up all over the world – by the time I received my first college degree, I had lived in eight states and two countries and attended well over a dozen schools.  Like any human, I wanted to be accepted, wanted to fit in.  So I did the things that people do to be accepted and to fit in. I got the right certifications, joined the right clubs, and achieved the right things.  My sense of isolation grew steadily in spite of all of that, and I gradually accepted that being an outsider was my fate.  I would never belong.  Other people could feel accepted, and valued, and maybe even cherished. Not me.  I would always feel awkward and invisible, the square peg in a round hole.

This was very apparent in my writing at the time.  Many of my job roles required me to write extensively, and I was quite the technical writing machine.  Software manuals, installation instructions, functional specifications!  Power up the writing robot and watch her roll.  I churned out huge quantities of text – from white papers to bylines to brochures and presentations. A little voice inside my head said, “If you can just write like everybody else, you will be like everybody else, and everybody else will like you.  Then you will belong.  Then you will feel included.  Then you will finally feel at home.”

So naturally, everything I wrote was dry, and boring, and lifeless.  Technically accurate?  Sure. Full of life and authenticity? Definitely not.

Then one magic day, something amazing happened.  I saw a link to a video made by SAP, my employer at the time.  Titled “It Gets Better: SAP Employees”, it began with the heart-wrenching story of Jeffrey Fehr, a gay teenager who committed suicide after a lifetime of bullying. The video then shared the stories of homosexual employees from all over the globe, showing that it was possible to be welcomed, and included, and loved, not in spite of being themselves, but because of being themselves.  Most compellingly for me, it ended with our co-CEO stating “It will get better.”  Our CEO!

The day I watched that video, my world changed.  Here I was, worried about trying to fit in – when this child– this beautiful child– had been bullied so mercilessly that he felt the need to end his life? And all of these amazing adults – these talents from all over the planet – were willing to publicly “out” themselves, willing to risk their reputations and their careers, to help other children feel included and loved?  And our leader supported them?  Visibly and publicly, he supported them.

That day, my shell cracked. The shell I had built up so carefully over years and years, the shell I used to protect me even when I was pretending to be a rebel.  How easy to dance and feel free in Fayetteville when I’m just your standard straight chick.  For me, the visit to the gay club was like an exotic vacation, a stopover in the land of the glamorous, knowing full well that I could return at any time to my genuine home in Heteroville.  For someone like Andrew Fehr?  The acceptance, friendship, and unabashed joy that I felt in that club – the love extended to everyone who walked through that door, gay or not - could have been a lifeline.

Soon after watching the video, I reached out to Moya Watson an employee at SAP who played a key role in making that video happen.  I’m not sure what it was about our interaction – her authenticity?  Her courage?  Her honesty?  But it inspired me to take a baby step toward really being me.  I suddenly saw that the things I was afraid of  - like being laughed at – were so very inconsequential.  And I dipped my toes in the waters of authenticity. I started writing like ME – not like the person that others wanted me to be, expected me to be.

To my utter astonishment, in doing so – in expressing my truest self – I woke up in the world of belonging that I had longed for since childhood.  I belonged in this world where words could paint a picture, and where I could explain concept technical topics with stories of pumpkins and alligators and imaginary superheroes.  I had belonged there always, but I couldn’t see it through the veil of sameness that I had imposed upon myself.  I won awards and was offered book contracts, but that was not what brought me joy.  What brought me joy –and still brings me joy and drives me to continue to put fingers to the keyboard, are the people who have told me that my writing matters to them: From mothers and brothers who said they cried about my sepsis post, since they also had loved ones with sepsis, to anonymous fans who cornered me in airport bathrooms to share that my poetry gave them the courage to face their own fears, to colleagues who had been uninspired about the Internet of Things until they read my blog about bees.  So many stories – so much sharing – and so much joy.

My silence has been broken. But what of the silence of others? What voices do we silence when we ask other humans – or even ourselves - to look like the imaginary normal, to think like everyone else, to live and love like everyone else?  My vehicle of authenticity is writing.  Someone else’s might be philanthropy, or pottery, or psychology, or journalism, or acting, or any host of talents that make our world a more interesting and vibrant place to be.

How appropriate it is that another term for “average” is “mean”. It is mean – to other people and to ourselves – to deny such talents a place for expression and belonging.

As a teenager in that bar in Fayetteville, I could express myself freely and fearlessly and enjoy a sense of belonging for a few hours even though my life was very different from most of the patrons.  My sexual orientation was never important to them.  Not one of those patrons in my first gay bar ever said or implied that I was not welcome on the dance floor just because I preferred having a boyfriend to having a girlfriend.  They welcomed the person I truly was, not the person they might have wished me to be.

They simply opened their arms and invited me into their world, to be myself among them.

Isn’t it time that we all open our arms in the same way, and give those who are different from us the life-changing gifts of acceptance and belonging that can allow them to be who they genuinely are?

Hi all,

I have question which probably have been asked before. When getting data from IW29, one gets several time stamp information:

  1. Notification Time
  2. Created at, and
  3. Malfunction start

What is the difference between those time stamp. What I know is that malfunction start can be changed by user.

My second question:

Is there a time stamp which recorded by SAP the very first time when a notification is created and cannot be changed?

and my third:

If the answer to my second question is yes, will the data change whenever someone change the data in a notification? I mean is it the same as Last Change Time?

Thank you in advance and I hope I explain my question clearly.

Steps to convert certificate from .p12 format to .pem to be used in Loadrunner web scripts

  1. To Import certificate into Microsoft IE Tools >Internet Options > Content > Certificates.

Under Personal tab click import and find the .p12 file.

Enter Password and click Next and make sure you click on "Mark this key as exportable..." then hit next again. Place the cert under Personal

2.To Export the certificate, select to export the private key. Select include all certificates. Enter the password and export it as a pfx file.

3.In DOS prompt, go to LR bin directory and run the command below :

Press when prompted for Import Password and Enter a PEM pass phrase, for e.g 1234, you should now have a .pem file

If you want to put the certificate somewhere else, you can provide a full file path to the certificate. e.g. “C:\\Users\\certCRM.pem"

You can now use this certCRM.prm in your Loadrunner script.

Hi all,

Within a plant already having technical object structure with functional location and equipment attached to it.

Process involved:

An equipment or an assembly (an assembly is attached to equipment and have its own equipment number) is being taken for maintenance in workshop and replaced with another assembly or equipment already prepared.

Question:

  1. Should the technical object master data be updated?
  2. Or we can keep using the same equipment number as already available in the technical object structure.
  3. What would be the best practice and impact on employing such practice?

Note:

The plant is not implementing serial number.

Thanks in advance.

Limit Material Movement Storage Location for each Material

$

Hey,

I would like to know if its possible to limit the storage location for each Material in SAP to avoid wrong movement of this material. I already found similar questions but not matching answers, so I want to ask second time.

Example:
We have Material 'Mat001' and 3 Storage Locations in our Plant '5000, 5100,5200'

I want to limit the Movement of the 'Mat001' only to 5100. So if the user wants to send the Material to 5000 it shouldnt be possible and the user should get a warning.

Is this limitation possible in SAP?

thank you

Open Transactions with Autocommit = false in ASE

Hi Everyone,

We've just encountered a problem with our applications after upgrading our database to ASE 16.  I found some ancient posts and articles about transaction logs filling up with early versions of ASE and Powerbuilder when Autocommit is false because it keeps transactions open and marked as the oldest open transaction.  We've been using these apps for years with ASE 11.9, 12.5 and then 15 without any issue, but now it seems with ASE 16 any select statements sent from Powerbuilder keep an open transaction which is marked as the oldest open transaction in syslogshold.  They don't clear until a commit is issued, either after an update operation or when the application is closed.

Has anyone had this problem recently, or have any suggestions for fixing it?  I know I could set Autocommit to true and do explicit transaction handling, but that would be quite a big change for all of our applications.  I am thinking of adding a commit in the application idle event, but I'm not 100% sure whether that is a good or bad idea. Any suggestions would be welcome.

The applications are written in Powerbuilder 10.2 and 10.5

Thanks.

Make HANA exclusive Transactional App run on non-HANA

Hello,

I thought transactional Apps can run on both HANA and non-hana DB. But came across some Apps like Monitor PO Apps which says HANA exclusive?

Do we have an alternative of this or any "switching" mechanism to run this on non-HANA? Lastly, will it be possible to run this on non-HANA by extending the backend Odata services by using the BADIs or enhancment points available?

Thanks,

Hi.

We have created a MDR job that calls the delete action defined on custom BO.

mdr.png

There is Query object created on Custom BO automatically.

Query.png

When the Job runs and executes the Action : Delete should get  triggered but none of the data from custom BO where Backlog date is more than 31 days old gets deleted. Is there something wrong with code.

import ABSL;

/** Querying the OrderBacklog BO **/

var query = ZBO_OrderBacklog.QueryByElements;

/* Creating selection parameters **/

var selectionParams = query.CreateSelectionParams();

/** Fetching current date **/

var currentDate = Context.GetCurrentSystemDate();

/** Setting the threshold date as 31 days before the current date **/

var thresholdDate = currentDate.SubtractDuration(Duration.ParseFromString("P31D"));

/** Querying the BO on date less than the threshold date **/

selectionParams.Add(query.OrderBacklogDate, "I", "LT", thresholdDate);

/** Executing the query **/

var resultData = query.Execute(selectionParams);

/**  Deleting the records **/

foreach (var BO in resultData)

{

    BO.Delete();

}

Hello Experts

Currently the company has implemented the SAP module EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety Management) in version 4.7 and Z programs were created to perform mass updates processes through BatchInput to EHSSERV01 and EHSTERM01 transactions.

They migrated from Version 4.7 to 6.0 and the Batch input stopped working since changed and now screens in Version 6.0 is used is the transaction EHSH_D_PCP- Planning Cockpit.

1 There is some BAPI or function module 6.0 to run in the background that has the same behavior EHSH_D_PCP or EHSSERV01 or EHSTERM01 tx.

2 Try again to create a new Batch Input of EHSSERV01 and EHSTERM01 transactions but does not take the Click Container.

Recording in SHDB:

scn2.jpg

When I run or process does not take the click Employee and does not advance.  It waits even though the recording was made

I have created a new partner with 000000 but would like to create an employee BUP003. Now I'm not able to create BUP003 for that Partner. I receive the error that the partner already exists.

I need to have exactly the same number, but it is not possible to delete and create again.

What can I do to create BUP003? Is there any possibility to delete the partner and create again?

Dear Gurus,

I have variance in 1 MTO based production order

1 of the material cost was manually adjusted via MR21

production order was completed

sales order re-costed

I have a variance on the order with the same amount as of the material whose price was changed.

I see GR was done before the re-costing of sales order.

GR will be done based on sales order costing or material master cost?
